The purpose of this class is to teach people how to use iNaturalist both as a way to record what is seen in the wild, but also to show how iNaturalist can be used as a learning tool to enhance knowledge of and appreciation of nature.  This class will teach how to make observations on phone and computer and talk about what makes a good observation.  We’ll be discussing how the Computer Vision model works and how, by using iNaturalist, you can make it better.  It is expected that people have iNaturalist uploaded to their phones.
The first class will also discuss some of the basic searches that can be done using iNaturalist.  By the second class, it is hoped that participants will have uploaded some observations to iNaturalist and possibly experimented with some basic searches.  There will be an opportunity to ask questions about any problems that may have come up.  The second class will also discuss more advanced searches and some of the hidden features of iNaturalist that may be of interest as one continues to use it.
Location: Virtual class
